Description: “The Lakester”, a 1934 Ford 3-window coupe powered by a 600+ horsepower Bill Mitchell 427 c.i. small block Chevrolet, and whose build was inspired by the high speed racing at the Bonneville Salt Flats. The coupe was completed in 2011 and shown at multiple indoor and outdoor hot rod & car show events and receiving awards for best of show and best engineered. Additionally, Street Rodder Magazine awarded the car the “Best Shaker Award” with a featured article in their May 2012 issue. It was also featured in a 2013 Hot Rod Calendar by Dale Moreau. This is truly a one-of-a-kind coupe with many hand-built and unique features which will not be found on any other ’34 Coupe.

There is only a total of approximately 1500 miles logged on the odometer and the car appears as fresh as it was when first completed. No disappointments.

Body & Paint:

J&M Rodworks of Glendale MD performed the build using one of the first Anderson Industries fiberglass 1934 Ford body’s which received a 5” chop and 3” channel over a stretched & pinched 1934 Ford frame now having a wheelbase of 119”.

Custom features include hand-made aluminum track-style nose with a fitted aluminum hood and side panels with a total of 150 hand pressed louvers on the sides and top.

The color is PPG Super White with Classic Black side scallops accented with Burgundy pinstriping.

Windows are electric.

Doors open with key lock or manual door release.

Trunk mounted battery.

Electric trunk release with manual backup.

Custom front-end with dropped tube axle with panhard bar and 4-link with QA1 adjustable coil over shocks.

9” Ford differential with 3.91:1 posi-traction gears, Currie 31-spline axles, mounted with 4-link and panhard bar and Koni adjustable coil over shocks.

11” GM disc brakes up front and Ford 10” drum in rear.

15” ET wheels with Hoosier tires measuring 31×16.5 on rear and 29×7.5

Interior:

Custom aluminum interior including dash, door panels, headliner w/ Kenwood AM/FM/CD player console using 4 speakers and power electric antenna.

Welded in 6-point roll bar.

Reworked Dodge Omni bucket seats upholstered in red leather w/seatbelts.

Bear claw safety latches.

Tilt steering column
