A familiar Chevy LS1 V8 provides the kind of reliable power that makes for a great-driving rod. Neatly finished with body-colored coil covers but nothing radical, it starts easily and hums down the road for mile after mile without complaint. Factory fuel injection means it’s reliable and tractable to drive every day, and the fully engineered system makes service easy in the future. The chassis is sensibly built with a Mustang II suspension, power steering, and a 9-inch Ford rear axle from a Lincoln Versailles, so 4-wheel discs are part of the deal. A 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission swaps the gears and it sits right on a set of 17-inch Ford Mustang Cobra R wheels with 235/45/17 front and 245/45/17 rear Falken radials.
