1972 Dodge Challenger drag car/pro street. The car started life as a green 318 challenger with a few options, it retains the original VIN tag, Fender tag, cowl and rad support stamps. The car has fresh black paint that is very nice with a few minor chips is and paired with black 1971 longitudinal RT vinyl stripes. The car has no rust whatsoever. The car has a nearly perfect black vinyl top with all the trim in tact. The six pack style hood and both bumpers are fiberglass and are painted body color. The car has all new front suspension with quick ratio flaming river steering box.The car also has disk brakes in front with a functional line lock. The transmission is a 727 with a nice 3800 stall converter and reverse pattern manual valve body shifted by a Hurst quarterstick shifter. The car has been back halfed with wheel tubs, a full four link suspension with pan hard bar and adjustable coil over shocks. The car also has weld in subframe connectors.The rear end is a narrowed 9″ with Strange center section sporting a full spool and 4:88 gears along with Strange GM bolt pattern 35 spline axles with 5/8s studs and Strange disk brakes. The rear wheels are 15×15 Weld dragstars on 31×18.5-15 Mickey Thompson sportsman tires. The interior has stock dodge high back bucket seats with a stock e body console. The door panels are in decent condition, the dash pad is near perfect. The steering wheel is a brand new reproduction tuff wheel.The car has an autometer 5″ tach and auxiliary oil pressure, water temp, and volt gauges. The factory gas gauge does work, the speedo is 15mph off and none of the other factory gauges function. It also has 5 point harnesses for both seats. The car has a roll bar that goes down to the trunk floor with a main hoop and cross bar that goes behind the seat backs. The carpet is nice in the front car, the tubs are painted black. The car comes with a new headliner but it is not installed. The heater box, radio, and back seat have all been deleted. The car comes with the factory heater box. The battery has been relocated to the trunk. The car retains the factory fuel tank but a rear sump has been grafted into it in order to keep fuel supplied under acceleration. The car has a Holley blue electric fuel pump and 6an braided steel line with AN fittings all the way up to the Holley regulator which then has two Russel fuel pressure gauges and two lines going to each side of the carb. The car has around 1500 street miles and has 10 drag strip passes on all of the new rear/front suspension, paint, transmission ETC.. The car turns heads and is set up to be an awesome pro street and drag race machine.
The car has a no expense spared 500″ stroker motor that i just built. The bottom end has an Eagle forged crank with a 4.150″ stroke, Eagle H beam rods, forged flat top 12.5:1 Weisco pistons. All ARP fasteners and a billet rear main. The block is a stock 440 that’s bored 0.055 over. The motor comes with a Comp hydraulic roller, .544″ lift, 298 duration, 110LSA attached with a Comp double roller billet timing chain, Comp roller lifters, hardened pushrods,Harland Sharp 1.6 ratio roller rockers which bumps the lift of the cam up to near .590″. It also has aluminum Edelbrock RPM heads with the roller cam springs that will handle up to .750″ lift, Aluminum Edelbrock Super Victor intake with 1050 Quickfuel Dominator carb. It also comes with a Milodon 7qt oil pan, correct pickup, and stroker clearance windage tray. The motor has a Billet aluminum timing cover, Aluminum water pump and housing, ATI Super Damper and a March serpentine pulley set up complete with a 100amp TuffStuff polished Alternator. The whole motor is held together with almost exclusively ARP polished stainless 12 point fasteners. The motor also has a brand new MSD pro billet distributor, brand new MSD blaster SS coil, and 6AL MSD ignition box with MSD 8.5mm wires. The car also comes with a new Champion 4 core aluminum radiator and new 17″ Derale tornado electric fan that pulls 2400cfm of air that is controlled by a Derale adjustable thermostatic fan switch. The car also has a Derale transmission cooler with small electric fan mounted to it. The car has Hooker competition headers with 3″ stainless exhaust with X pipe and 3″ Flowmaster super 40s that dump at the axle. I have also just installed an Odyssey PC-1500 battery with 850CCA, easily the best battery on the market.
