I have owned this Cadillac for the past 36 years. I have modified it to suit my taste over time. Its been driven a grand total of 2628 miles in that time. This is the last of a string of 50’s-60’s cars I collected and enjoyed. Now I am committed to vintage motorcycles. In the interest of freeing up some floor space, I have decided to pass this car along to a new owner.
This Coupe has 76631 actual miles on the original 365 Cadillac V8 motor. The original Jetaway 4 speed transmission is intact and rebuilt back to full factory spec last year by an experienced professional. Both motor and transmission function as they should without leaks. Additionally, a long list of maintenance items were addressed only 300 miles ago:
King pins and bushings, upper and lower control arm bushings, outer tie rods, steering knuckle bushings. Front and rear shocks. Front and rear brakes including drums, shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders, and hoses as well as the master cylinder assembly. We also did valve cover gaskets and replaced the heater hoses and more. Receipts provided.
The body is all steel with no rust. This car has literally never been in the rain in 36 years. The side pipes are functional and are activated by pulling a lever under the dash. Otherwise, stock exhausts end under car and do not go through the bumper. The Tri-Power intake is a vintage item from a 58 Eldorado – VERY scarce. This does not make the car faster, just cooler! The lowering is old skool style – blocked rear leafs and sagged front coils. Ride height is perfect to still clear drives and normal obstacles. Does not scrape in normal use. Seats and interior are old and show lots of character…not plush, but not tore up either. Headliner is custom Yeti hide. Electrics are upgraded to alternator with all lights working. Brakes are good tires fair.
Not surprisingly, this is a real attention getter. The grille is modified with extra Cadillac cross bars. Chrome is a bit dull, but the stainless all looks great. The flip-up rain guards above the doors still work.
As I said, I drive this car sparingly and only in nice weather with the windows down – no post looks cool. That said, there are several items that need attention, wipers, horn and climate control levers primarily. The radio lights up, but there’s no speaker and the antenna was shaved along with the nose and deck. Small crack in the bottom corner of driver’s window. Trunk lid is filled from a dent in the back, I got it that way. Expect a few small knicks and such, if they don’t show in the pics it’s not intentional. A considerable stash of spares will be offered to the winner at additional cost.
