1934 Ford Factory Five hot rod
A combination of a modern chassis and a reliable V-8 engine with classic styling can be found in this Factory Five hot rod which emulates a 1934 Ford 3-window coupe, with removable hard top.
Finished in Burnt Orange, the paint and trim are in overall excellent order. The body is made of fiberglass and covers a Factory 5 frame. The ’34 vertical ribbed grille is flanked by two single headlights, which have been custom made to fit the proportion of the car. Now fender-less, bumper-less and a hardtop that is slightly chopped and also removable, the fiberglass is all in excellent condition. The bodywork is straight and solid and note that the top can be removed for open-air driving.
This hot rod rolls on General Exclaim UHP radials, size 245/40ZR17 in front and 295/30ZR20 in back. Each one is mounted on a five-spoke American Racing Torque Thrust Special Edition wheels. The wheels are in excellent order while the tires are in good, original order. The gray, powder-coated Factory Five frame is very structurally sound. A four-link with coil over shocks (QA1 shocks and springs), are on the back and upfront are independent coil springs. Power disc brakes are on all four corners there’s an Optima battery in place of the traditional rumble seat.
Under split vee’d hood is a 302 CID Ford Racing engine with a four-barrel carburetor and breathing via side-exit exhausts. Backing the motor is a Tremec T5 five-speed manual transmission and a Summit 8.8-inch rear differential. Driver convenience features include power brakes and a tilt steering column.
Inside, there are two buckets from a donor Mazda Miata are upholstered in charcoal gray. The doors open in a suicide style and have shaved exterior door handles. Charcoal gray carpeting covers the floor and there are black door panel inserts with armrests that complement the burnt orange fiberglass sections, fuel gauge is inop. A full suite of Auto Meter gauges resides within a fiberglass dashboard. A Factory Five three-spoke steering wheel tops an Ididit tilt steering column. A floor-mounted shift lever and emergency brake round out the interior.
